Review of OPPO Enco W31 earphones

Review of OPPO Enco W31 earphones:

  Hi friend’s,
Welcome to Techno Beyond. Today we are going to take the complete review of oppo enco W31 wireless earphones. After realme and redmi now it's time for Oppo to launch their own budget truly wireless solution. This is the Oppo Enco W31, so how does this sound let's find out.

  • In the Box:

We have this round case that the earbuds come in the Oppo Enco W31 themselves along with a pair of differently sized replacement tips some documentation and a type C to type A charging cable coming back to the case who has chosen to go with an unusual design here this round case feels like a pebble and weighing in at just 50 grams. It's light enough to be easily pocketable.

  • Earphones Case:

Now one criticism I have of this case is that it is quite difficult to open with one hand and we don't get that satisfying snap when we shut it closed either so while it looks cool and different. I wish Oppo had stuck to the design of the Enco free wireless it was smaller and easier to open at least for me.

  • Charging:

The good thing is that like the Enco free wireless we do have type C charging on here opening up the case we can find the headphones themselves these are held in by magnets so they just snap into place.

  • Design:

Now unlike the enco free that sported a semi in ear design Oppo has chosen to go with an in-ear design for the w31 so this means that w31 is a much better fit than any of the semi in ear style TWS. The replaceable ear tips make sure that it is a great fit for most your shapes and the way the W31 sills of the ear canal it provides really great sound isolation the earbuds themselves are light enough that we could wear them for a couple of hours without any discomfort. The fit wasn't too tight so I didn't feel like that there was this new pressure building up inside my ears like it does with some other in your style ear buds.

  • Mic:

The best part here is that the primary mic in here is at the end of this stock so it's not like the redmi earbuds. Where people can't hear us talking in a noisy in fact we also another mic in here and we get dual mic noise cancellation but only for voice calls. Kind of like what we have with the realme but there the call quality here was one of the best that I've tried out the person at the other end never complained that they weren't able to hear me clearly. We even have IP5 for dust and water resistance here. So the Enco W31 is perfect for the gym or even dusty outdoor trips.

  • Color:

Realme they come in varieties of colors but the metallic finish on the W31 that really caught my eye. Now the fit and finish here is great personally I think it combines the best of both worlds here the design of the redmi and the mic on the stock of the realmes.

  • Sound:

For any earbud is how they sound and in one word it's good. 7 mm drivers you didn't blow me away or anything but what I like here is a balanced sound profile. There is a clear separation between the mids and highs and we would clearly make out the instruments in the background of the song. The W31 can get pretty loud too but at the higher volume settings the mids get a bit muddy and the instrument separation is lost.

  • Drivers:

But all that's well and good whatever the bass well OPPO has included a special base mode here double tapping on the left ear word activates that and you can clearly hear the sound signature of the Enco W31 change playing some EDM or Bollywood songs we would clearly hear the thump.
Thanks to the excellent seal there was no sound leak either.
Despite sporting much smaller 7 mm drivers same as the ones on the redmi earbuds the Oppo Enco W31 delivered great bass. Now I won't go as far as to say the sound quality as good as the realme buds or the TWS - but once more oppo tries to bring the best of both worlds here. As far as codec support we have support for AAC so no LDAC or aptX HD but honestly most ear phones don't offer those at this price range.

  • Battery:

Now let's talk about the battery in here. We have a 25 mAh battery and Oppo claims at 50% volume the battery life on a single charge should last around three and a half hours with the included 350 mAh power battery in the case number jumps up to 15 hours. In my testing the enco W31 lasted nearly 3 hours at around 80% volume as far as charging times are concerned Oppo claims as the headphone themselves can go from 0 to 100% in an hour and 20 minutes while the headphones plus the charging case should take around two and a half hours also no wireless charging here like the realme buds.

  • Pairing:

Here speaking of battery percentages we have a quick payer function that works with certain Oppo phones running color OS 7 and beyond on supported phones we can see this card pop up as soon as we open the case and once we click on connect it chooses the battery stats as well for other phones the connection method is pretty simple - flipping open the lid we have to press down on this button till the white LED starts blinking.

  • Range:

We have Bluetooth 5.0 so the range here is pretty good. There's no dedicated low latency mode for gaming but Oppo claims the latency here is as low as 94 milliseconds that's better than all the other budget TWS solution. Also one interesting thing here is that Oppo mentions a low latency mode works specifically with Qualcomm and mediatek smartphone platforms, I guess that means the latency is higher if we connect the enco W31 with an iPhone don't really know.

  • Touch control:

Moving on the touch controls here are actually pretty simple double tap on the right here to skip tracks, double tap on the left to switch between balance and freeze mode and triple tap on either one to summon the assistant. So wait a minute how do we pause and play then we have a wired detection sensor on board the earbuds and they stop playing as soon as we pull them out of our ears and resume playback when we put them back.

The Oppo and enco W31 nails a lot of the fundamentals of a good truly wireless solution and that includes the price at 3999 it is competing with the realme buds.
